Path to future success of ethnic minority children in Ningxia paved with the missionary footsteps of Hong Kong walkers at Walk for Children

This year’s “Walk for Children” organised by Plan International Hong Kong has received tremendous responses from the community! With the support of nearly 1,000 enthusiastic participants, the Walk was officiated on 27th April 2014 at West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade by Plan Ambassadors who took the very first steps to set the feet of ethnic minority children in Longde County, Ningxia Autonomous Region, China on the path to future success.

Counting down to 12 days before the Carnival event officially kicks-off at West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade!

The “Walk for Children” 2014 fundraising campaign organised by Plan International, aimed at raising funds for underprivileged children in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, is finally entering the countdown stage, with only 12 days remaining before the event. It is believed that our Plan Ambassadors and participants are already feeling excited and getting prepared for the meaningful event. For those who have yet to sign up, now is the time to seize this golden opportunity as Plan has, for the first time ever, extended the enrolment deadline to April 25 the last Friday before the event starts, to encourage as many people as possible to register for what promises to be a fun-filled as well as thought-provoking event.

Last Call to “Walk for Children” 2014!

In order to provide more and better education for poor children living in developing areas, many compassionate and loving Hong Kong citizens are ready to gather at West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade on 27th April 2014, in support of Plan International’s annual charity event “Walk for Children”. The event is now announcing the last call! Due to enthusiastic support, the enrolment deadline for Plan International’s Walk for Children 2014 will be extended to Tuesday, 8th April 2014 in order to accommodate the continuous enrolment requests.

Dedicated educators and Plan Because I am a Girl Ambassadors Mrs. Christine Liao, JP, Arts Educator (Ballet) and Ms. Christine Ma-Lau, founder and principal of JEMS Learning House are encouraging their pupils to participate in the NGO’s annual “Walk for Children” 2014. Both believe firmly that raising awareness of the plight of less fortunate children among their young students will help them appreciate their own good fortune as well as instil in them the desire to help others. The event will be held on 27 April at the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade.

Plan Ambassadors renowned film director Mr. Alfred Cheung and Ms Cindy Yeung, Chairperson of Emperor Watch and Jewellery, together with son Justin have got behind Plan’s “Walk for Children” 2014 as a family unit to participate in the event to be held on 27th April 2014 at the West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade. Their hope is that many more families and individuals will join them to help raise funds for education programmes in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, China, particularly early childhood education services for pre-school children.
